What does the name BONCHOU mean?

Bonchou is a mashup of two of our favorite French words. “Mon Chou” means my sweetheart and “Bon” means tasty and together they make the perfect name for our éclairs!

Why is the Logo yellow?

We’re based in NYC and wanted to pay homage to this wonderful, wacky city. The yellow represents New York’s iconic taxicabs, while the black represents its bustling streets.

What are your ingredient standards?

We take pride in doing the right thing and work hard to keep our label clean. This means using hormone and antibiotic free milk, real butter, cage-free eggs and &2% Dark Belgium Chocolate.

Tell me more about your chocolate…

We use a wickedly rich 72% dark Belgian chocolate. Like nearly all chocolate, it contains Soy Lecithin. This is an emulsifier that binds fat and non-fat components together to give consistency and stability. A must for any pastry chef!

How do you thaw an éclair?

Just take it out of the freezer and sit tight for 30 minutes. It’s worth the wait, we promise! 

How long do thawed éclairs last?

They can last up to 5 days, but must be kept in the fridge.

What is the best way to store éclairs in the fridge?

Place the éclairs in a closed container, then pop them in the fridge (if you have kids, we suggest hiding the container in the vegetable drawer).

Once éclairs are thawed can we freeze them again?

No, eww!  Never re-freeze a thawed éclair!

Are your éclairs Gluten free?

No, they are not.  We haven’t found a way to make a delicious gluten-free éclair…yet!

How do you ship your frozen éclairs?

We ship in an insulated box with dry ice (yes, that stuff that smokes!).  Please be careful when opening the package and try not to touch the dry ice. Pop the éclairs into the freezer as soon as they arrive.
